Student of the week

Aurélie Lanctôt, a first-year law student at McGill, is taking a stand against the Parti Québécois’  (PQ) proposed Charter of Values. As a member of the non-profit organization Québéc inclusif, Lanctôt helped write an open letter opposing feminist pro-charter arguments that freedom of religion jeopardizes previously actions toward gender equality.[Read More…]

Student of the week

This week’s Student of the Week is Tricia Olson, a U2 double major in biology and computer science. She was nominated for her involvement in a wide range of McGill clubs. Some of her roles in clubs this year include vice president of Gamers’ Guild (a club about board and card games), advertising executive of the Symphonic Band Club, member of Epilogue Book Club, and member of the McGill Mafia Club (a club for the party game known as Mafia or Werewolf).

Student of the week: Brendan Edge

I’m the Vice President of the Beta Omega Chapter— McGill Chapter— of Delta Lambda Phi, which is a fraternity at McGill. It’s a fraternity for gay, bisexual and progressive men [….] We’re Canada’s first gay fraternity. We just participated in Pride [Week] this past summer, which we’re pretty proud of, and we’re starting our Fall rush coming up. Over the past two years, I’ve [also] participated in a number of theatre productions. I was in Sweeney Todd my first year —I was Tobey, the little kid— [….] The past two years, I was in the [McGill University Rowing Club (MURC)].
