    At 11 a.m. last Thursday, veterans, soldiers, and the McGill community gathered to remember the victims of war.  The solemn ceremony featured a 21-gun salute and pipes and drums from the Black Watch of Canada.  It was the second year that McGill hosted the Royal Canadian Legion, Quebec Command’s ceremony. 

    “We are the Dead. Short days ago / We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, /  Loved and were loved, and now we lie. /  In Flanders fields. / Take up our quarrel with the foe: / To you from failing hands we throw /  The torch; be yours to hold it high.”
